Hi, I’m Jessica, founder of Umpqua Trading Co., photographer, marketer and someone who deeply believes in small towns and the people who keep them alive.
Umpqua Trading Co. started from a simple idea: Reedsport deserves a shop that feels connected to the outdoors, the coast and the community that makes this place special. Through my work with Coastlight Collective, I’ve spent years helping local businesses tell their stories, and somewhere along the way I realized I wanted to create a space that told the story of this town too.
What started as a small coastal gift and outdoor shop has continued to grow into something bigger - a place centered around adventure, creativity and connection. Inside the shop you’ll find outdoor gear, locally made goods, coastal apparel and thoughtfully chosen products inspired by life on Oregon’s south coast.
As the vision for Umpqua Trading Co. grows, so does the dream behind it. From outdoor rentals and secondhand gear to future community events and experiences, my hope is to create a space that helps people explore the Oregon Coast like a local while supporting the artists, makers and small businesses that make this region unique.
When I’m not at the shop, you’ll usually find me with my family and my dachshund Gimli, out mushroom foraging, hiking, exploring backroads or wandering through other small coastal towns looking for inspiration.
More than anything, I hope Umpqua Trading Co. feels welcoming. Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or have lived here your whole life, I hope you walk through the doors and feel connected to this little corner of the Oregon Coast the same way I do.
